‘Haiwaan’ trailer: Akshay Kumar and Saif Ali Khan tackle each other in Priyadarshan’s twisted thriller

The trailer of Akshay Kumar and Saif Ali Khan’s upcoming psychological thriller, Haiwaan, was unveiled by the makers on Wednesday (August 26, 2026).

Directed by Priyadarshan, the film also stars, the film also stars Boman Irani, Shriya Pilgaonkar, Saiyami Kher, Rajpal Yadav, Sharib Hashmi, Rajesh Sharma, Pahal Chaudhary and Manoj Joshi in pivotal roles.

The trailer doesn’t reveal much about the storyline but shows Akshay’s character as a deadly serial killer, who has caused havoc in the city. Saiyami plays a cop, who is on his hunt. Meanwhile, Saif plays a visually impaired character, who gets arrested on false charges of murder. He confronts Akshay in a scene, asking him how much lives will he continue to take for his vengeance. “This is the last,” Akshay says as he laughs demonically. The film promises to be a twisted psychological thriller.

It is written by Priyadarshan, Abilash Nair and Rohan Shankar and features music by Pritam.

Haiwaan is reportedly inspired by Priyadarshan’s 2016 thriller, Oppam, which featured Mohanlal as a blind man protecting the daughter of a judge. It marks Akshay and Saif’s reunion after 18 years. They last starred together in Tashan (2008).

The film is produced by Venkat K Narayana and Shailaja Desai Fenn. It will be released in theatres on September 11.

Meanwhile, Akshay and Priyadarshan collaborated earlier this year for the horror-comedy, Bhooth Bangla. The two will be coming together again for Hera Pheri 3, which also stars Suniel Shetty and Paresh Rawal in pivotal roles. Saif was last seen playing a cop in Netflix’s crime-thriller, Kartavya.
