The teaser of Operation Tral, an action thriller starring Jayasurya, was unveiled on Wednesday (August 26, 2026). Directed by music composer-writer Ratheesh Vega, the film is slated for release in December 2026.

Produced by Joby George Thadathil under the banner of Goodwill Entertainments, Operation Tral marks Ratheesh’s directorial debut.

The film, starring Ritika Singh, Murali Sharma and Vinay Rai in key roles, is inspired by a recent counter-terror operation, following a convoy attack in Kashmir. Jayasurya plays a National Investigation Agency (NIA) officer.

Other cast members include Vikram Kochhar, Kavya Shetty, Siddique, Saikumar, Anson Paul, Manju Pillai, Yash Gera, Hansika Bharat Jangid, Akshay Radhakrishnan, Sirajudheen Nazar, Neethu Krishna, Bashid Basheer, and Joel Jo George.

Najose handles the film’s cinematography, with Ratheesh helming Operation Tral’s music and original score and Shafeeque VB serving as the editor. The film is produced by Joby George Thadathil under the banner of Goodwill Entertainments, with Sunimol Joby as co-producer

Jayasurya is slated to appear in several other projects such as Kathanar – The Wild Sorcerer,Mayan and Titans. Titans, also starring Vinayakan and Baby Jean, is set to release on October 1.

The actor’s last theatre release was Aadu 3, which released earlier this year.

The Hindu’s review of Aadu 3 said, “In the bloated third part, which runs close to three hours, Midhun attempts to expand and upgrade the franchise by setting it in three time periods — the late 18th century, the present and the 2300s, when a corporate entity rules the world. In the period timeline, Shaji Pappan is a local king attempting to stand up to Tipu’s forces, while the Dude is the general leading Tipu’s army. But let no one be fooled by the period setting and costumes, for inside, they are still the characters prone to goofy, self-destructive behaviour.”

Ritika makes her Malayalam acting debut with Operation Tral. Earlier, she had appeared in a Malayalam film with King of Kotha (2023), performing in the dance number, ‘Kalapakkaara’.
