The trailer of Prakash Raj’s upcoming Telugu series, Jagmae Sangeetham was unveiled by the makers on Tuesday (August 25, 2026). The series is inspired by the Hindi show Bandish Bandits and also stars Meka Srikanth, Madhubala, Akshay Lagusani, and Sushmita Shetty in the lead.
The trailer offers a glimpse into the world of the show, where Carnatic music takes center stage. Set in the temple town of Vaikuntapuram, the series follows two contrasting worlds. On one side is Balu, the gifted grandson of a revered musician, Shastri Garu. As Balu seraches for his own voice, his world collides with Pallavi, a celebrated pop star, longing to break free from the pressures of fame in search of something more authentic. The series promises to be an intense family-drama about legacy, love and sacrifice.
The eight-episode musical drama is created and directed by Palnati Surya Pratap and written by Vangala Surya Manoj, Shravani Samudrala, and A.R. Prabhav, with music composed by Vishal Chandrasekar.
Speaking about it, Prakash said in a statement, “What fascinated me about Shastri was that, beneath all his discipline and conviction, he is a father trying to protect everything he holds dear. He’s not driven by ego as much as by fear of losing a legacy that has defined generations before him. That emotional complexity, as well as the opportunity to explore how music can heal, divide, and ultimately bring people together, drew me to this role.”
Produced by Sushmita Konidela under the banner of Gold Box Entertainment, Jagamae Sangeetham will be released on Prime Video on September 4.
