Apple may have a four-part strategy to improve iPhone cameras, according to rumours from the Chinese Weibo-based leaker Digital Chat Station.
The company intends to begin with a variable aperture on the iPhone 18 Pro, which will enable smartphone photographers to alter the amount of light that reaches the camera’s sensor and abandon the fixed ¾/1.78 aperture.
Therefore, the lens will expand wider to let in more light when you’re taking pictures in low light. However, in order to prevent overexposure, it closes in bright scenes. As a result, the iPhone 18 Pro should be able to take better photos in a variety of situations and significantly reduce the distance between smartphones and DSLRs and mirrorless cameras.
