The legendary MS Dhoni of the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) is expected to make a decision on Thursday on his availability for the IPL 2026 matchup with the bitter rivals Mumbai Indians. Eric Simmons, the bowling coach for CSK, has stated that although the medical staff will evaluate Dhoni’s fitness on game day, the player has the last say. On the eve of the game, Simmons stated, “He and the medical staff will make a decision on him (Dhoni) tomorrow, if he is absolutely ready to go.”
Dhoni’s return date was not disclosed by CSK captain Ruturaj Gaikwad, but he did confirm that the five-time IPL champion will return to play shortly.He broke his calf when we were practicing a game.
