Marine & Lawn Hotels & Resorts has officially become Marine & Lawn Golf Hotels, unveiling a new identity for its growing collection of destination hotels across Scotland, Northern Ireland and, from 2027, the United States.
Set in some of the world’s most distinctive coastal towns and countryside destinations, the collection brings togther characterful hotels shaped by their surroundings. From St Andrews and North Berwick to the Mourne Mountains, the Scottish Highlands and North Carolina’s Sandhills, each property is designed to feel connected to the history, landscape and culture of its location.
Phillip Allen, President of Marine & Lawn Golf Hotels, said: “The new name gives us a clearer way to express what connects this collection. Each hotel is individual, with its own history, personality and sense of place, but they share a belief that the best trips are shaped as much by what happens around the day as by the reason you travelled there in the first place.
“It might be a long lunch overlooking the coast, a drink by the fire, discovering a new town or simply spending time together somewhere memorable. Those experiences are at the heart of Marine & Lawn.”
The new identity is now being introduced across the portfolio. Rusacks St Andrews becomes Marine & Lawn Rusacks, Marine North Berwick becomes Marine & Lawn North Berwick, Marine Troon becomes Marine & Lawn Troon, Dornoch Station becomes Marine & Lawn Dornoch, Slieve Donard becomes Marine & Lawn Slieve Donard, and Portrush Adelphi becomes Marine & Lawn Portrush.
Greywalls Hotel, the historic East Lothian estate beside Muirfield, will reopen as Marine & Lawn Greywalls in summer 2027, while the collection will make its US debut that autumn with Marine & Lawn Pine Needles in Southern Pines, North Carolina.
A new brand motto also draws on the collection’s heritage. Inscribed on a keystone at Greywalls in 1901, the Latin phrase LVDO ERGO VIVO — I PLAY, THEREFORE I LIVE — now sits at the heart of the brand, reflecting a spirit of enjoyment, curiosity and time well spent.
The rebrand comes as Marine & Lawn enters a new partnership with The R&A, with Marine & Lawn Rusacks named the Official Hotel of The 155th Open when the Championship returns to St Andrews in July 2027.
The partnership will also introduce The Open Grand Tour, a series of small-group journeys combining stays across Marine & Lawn hotels with access to celebrated Open venues and exclusive experiences. Up to four tours will take place between May 2027 and June 2028, each limited to 16 guests, with further details to be announced this autumn.
Ben Weprin, CEO of AJ Capital Partners, said: “St Andrews is where Marine & Lawn began, and it shaped our view of what a truly memorable destination hotel can be. The places in this collection have extraordinary histories and landscapes, and our ambition has always been to create hotels that feel part of them rather than simply located within them.”
