The public was given an unapproved look at the flagship phone, which is scheduled to be announced on January 22, 2025, at Samsung’s Unpacked event, thanks to the leaked images that went viral online.
Samsung’s flagship Galaxy S25 series will be unveiled in a few weeks, but a staff error has given the world a preview of the much awaited smartphone. However, this did not sit well with the corporation, and according to a report by PhoneArena, Samsung fired the staff who were in charge of the supervision.
The leaked photos, which surfaced online, gave the public an unauthorised glimpse of the flagship phone, set to be unveiled during Samsung’s Unpacked event on January 22, 2025.
How were the launch information for the Galaxy S25 Ultra leaked?
When @Jukanlosreve posted pictures of the Galaxy S25+ on Twitter, the problem started. Due to a mistake, Samsung was able to identify the personnel directly responsible for the leak by using the visible device identifying numbers in these photographs. Consequently, some people lost their employment.
In the tech industry, leaks are nothing new, but for businesses like Samsung, who significantly engage in generating buzz for official product releases, they are a nightmare. Leaks destroy the element of surprise that is so meticulously planned for events like Unpacked, even though they might create enthusiasm.
It’s interesting to note that this crackdown on leaks occurred the day before famous leaker Evan Blass shared more pictures of the Galaxy S25 Ultra and S25+ as well as a promotional poster confirming the January event. It is anticipated that the S25 series—which includes the Ultra, S25+, and basic S25—will establish new standards for smartphones.
Leaking pictures of much awaited gadgets is a profitable side gig for some people. However, as this example demonstrates, it’s a dangerous maneuver that can result in job loss.
