BWF World Championships Highlights: India’s women’s pair of Treesa Jolly and Gayatri Gopichand won their quarter-final match against China’s Jia Yifan and Zhang Shuxian 16-21, 21-15, 21-13 in the women’s doubles category at the BWF World Championships 2026 on Friday. With an entry into the semi-finals, the pair assured India of a medal. Treesa-Gayatri produced a remarkable fightback after going 0-6 down in the first game. They even cut the deficit to 8-11, but China came back as a far better unit after the break and took the game comfortably. The second game was all about India’s sensational comeback as Treesa and Gayatri beat their opponents by a margin of 21-15. The deciding game too started with India struggling at the beginning, but once Treesa and Gayatri found their rhythm, there was no stopping them. The pair comfortably swept the final game 21-13.
