Breaking Travel News has been nominated by members of the Association of National Tourist Offices and Representatives (ANTOR) for Travel Trade Publication of the Year 2026, alongside Travel Weekly, Travel Gossip and TTG Media.
The nomination represents significant industry recognition for Breaking Travel News (BTN), with the shortlist determined by ANTOR members representing national and regional tourism organisations.
The four publications nominated for Travel Trade Publication of the Year 2026 are:
* Breaking Travel News
* Travel Weekly
* Travel Gossip
* TTG Media
The recognition comes during a landmark year for ANTOR as the organisation celebrates its 75th anniversary, marking three quarters of a century of bringing destinations together and strengthening their relationships with the UK travel trade and media.
The winner will be announced at the ANTOR Travel Media Awards 2026, taking place at the Royal Garden Hotel in Kensington, London, on 22 September 2026, hosted by ANTOR Chair Manuel Butler of the Spanish Tourist Office.
ANTOR celebrates 75 years
The Association of National Tourist Offices and Representatives (ANTOR) was established in the UK in 1951 and has developed into an important organisation representing national and regional tourist offices from around the world.
Operating as a voluntary, non-political association, ANTOR provides a collective platform through which destinations can exchange ideas, develop industry relationships and engage with the UK travel trade, media and travelling public.
Its mission includes promoting safe, ethical, sustainable and inspirational global travel while strengthening cooperation between destinations and the wider tourism industry.
ANTOR also plays an important role in connecting destinations with travel journalists and publishers. Initiatives such as ANTOR Meets the Media bring tourist boards and destination marketing organisations together with journalists, editors, broadcasters and digital creators, helping generate new relationships and opportunities for destination storytelling.
Against this backdrop, being nominated directly by ANTOR members for Travel Trade Publication of the Year is particularly meaningful for BTN.
More than 25 years of Breaking Travel News
Launched in 1999, Breaking Travel News has spent more than a quarter of a century reporting on the people, destinations, companies and ideas shaping international tourism.
BTN has evolved into a comprehensive global B2B travel media platform covering destinations, aviation, hospitality, tourism investment, sustainability, travel technology, events and the wider visitor economy.
Its audience extends across more than 150 countries, encompassing tourism ministers, airline executives, hotel leaders, destination marketers, investors, entrepreneurs and senior decision-makers throughout the international travel industry.
Today, Breaking Travel News reaches 608,000+ monthly travel professionals, generates more than 3.2 million monthly page views.
BTN’s daily newsletter reaches 210,000 subscribers, delivering the latest travel and tourism news directly to industry professionals around the world and complementing the publication’s continuous digital coverage.
BTN also maintains a strong presence on the ground at the industry’s major international events. Its editorial team travels across Europe, the Middle East, Africa, Asia-Pacific and the Americas, producing exclusive interviews, destination features, analysis, video, podcasts and multimedia coverage.
Hundreds of chief executives, government ministers, tourism leaders, founders and innovators are interviewed by BTN each year, providing readers with direct insight from many of the people influencing the future direction of global travel and tourism.
A nomination from the destinations themselves
What makes the ANTOR recognition particularly significant is that BTN has been nominated by ANTOR’s own members.
Destination coverage has been at the heart of Breaking Travel News since its launch, with BTN working closely with tourism boards and destination organisations around the world to communicate new developments, investment, air connectivity, major events, sustainability initiatives and emerging tourism experiences.
The relationship between destinations and specialist travel media is becoming increasingly important as tourism organisations navigate rapidly changing traveller expectations, new technologies, artificial intelligence, sustainability and the challenge of achieving responsible tourism growth.
ANTOR provides destinations with a collective voice within the UK market, while BTN provides an international platform through which their stories can reach travel professionals and decision-makers globally.
The nomination for Travel Trade Publication of the Year 2026 therefore represents recognition from the destination community that BTN has worked alongside for more than 25 years.
Recognition for the entire BTN team
The nomination also recognises the work of the journalists, editors, correspondents, broadcasters, photographers and content producers behind Breaking Travel News.
Graham E. Cooke, Founder and President of Breaking Travel News, said:
“We are incredibly proud that Breaking Travel News has been nominated by ANTOR members for Travel Trade Publication of the Year 2026. To receive this recognition directly from the destination community is particularly special, and even more so as ANTOR celebrates its landmark 75th anniversary.”
“Destinations have been at the heart of Breaking Travel News since our launch in 1999. For more than 25 years, we have had the privilege of working with tourism boards and industry leaders around the world, travelling to their destinations and sharing their stories with an international travel audience.
“To be shortlisted alongside Travel Weekly, Travel Gossip and TTG Media is an honour and reflects the strength and diversity of travel trade media in the UK.
“Most importantly, this nomination belongs to the entire BTN team. It is a reflection of their commitment to covering the global travel industry every day and of the long-standing relationships we have built with tourism organisations, partners and readers around the world.
“We would like to thank ANTOR and its members for their nomination and continued support.”
The ANTOR Travel Media Awards 2026 will take place at the Royal Garden Hotel, Kensington, London, on Tuesday 22 September, bringing together the travel media and international destination community for an evening that will also celebrate ANTOR’s 75 years of connecting the world with the UK travel industry.
