Accor to expand presence in Albania with new hotel additions and brand launches

Accor, a world-leading hospitality group, continues to expand its presence in Albania with several new hotel openings and brand debuts across the country. Currently present in Albania with three hotels across three brands, the Group will introduce two new brands – Handwritten Collection and Novotel – to Tirana, while also expanding its premium footprint with the launch of its Swissôtel brand in key coastal destinations. The new hotels will add to Accor’s foothold in the country, including Mövenpick Hotel Lalez Durres, Mercure Tirana and Green Coast Hotel MGallery Collection, further diversifying the Group’s offering of brands and destinations across the country.

The latest expansion plan comes as Albania continues to strengthen its position on the European tourism map. The country welcomed 12.4 million international visitors in 2025[1] and is increasingly recognised as one of Europe’s most dynamic and fast-growing destinations.

Philippe Bijaoui, Chief Development Officer Europe & North Africa Premium, Midscale, Economy Brands at Accor, said: “Thanks to its natural beauty, authentic culture and rapidly improving tourism infrastructure, Albania is emerging as one of the most exciting hospitality markets in the region. Through partnerships with like-minded partners and experienced operators, our expansion trajectory will allow us to further strengthen our position in the country and continue to meet the evolving needs of domestic and international travellers.”

Accor’s new additions to Albania will include:

Hotel NOÉM Tirana-Handwritten Collection – Expected to open later this year, this newly built hotel will be located in the Don Bosco neighbourhood, approximately two kilometres from Skanderbeg Square. Developed by local entrepreneur Emiljan Moçka, the hotel will offer 32 rooms alongside a restaurant, bar and dedicated parking facilities. The concept will focus on delivering a personal hospitality experience, designed for both business and leisure travellers seeking a more intimate stay in Tirana.

Adorn Hotel Tirana-Handwritten Collection – This new property, also planned to open in 2027, will offer 25 rooms and will be located close to Selman Stërmasi Stadium and Tirana Park, within walking distance of the city centre. The hotel’s concept is inspired by the olive tree, reflecting Albania’s long tradition of olive cultivation, creating a warm and intimate atmosphere consistent with the Handwritten Collection philosophy.

Novotel Tirana – The newly built hotel is expected to open in spring 2027 and will offer 109 rooms in the heart of Blloku, one of Tirana’s most vibrant districts, and only a 15-minute walk from Skanderbeg Square and the city’s main landmarks. Novotel Tirana will feature a rooftop restaurant and bar, a lobby lounge with a café and kids’ corner, multifunctional meeting rooms, a fitness centre and underground parking. The property is being developed in partnership with Elona Gjondedaj and experienced operator Jona Hotels Management.

Swissôtel Qerret – This seven-storey property is planned to feature 374 rooms as well as several bars and restaurants, conference facilities, and outdoor pools and wellness spaces. Expected to open in 2028, the project will further strengthen Accor’s premium presence on the Albanian coast.

Swissôtel Vlora – This premium seaside resort will be located in Radhimë, one of Albania’s most attractive and fast-growing coastal destinations. The resort will include 99 upscale rooms and a range of leisure amenities. It is planned to open in 2030 in partnership with premium real estate and investment specialist ULK Invest Sh.p.k.

Upon opening, the new hotels will participate in ALL Accor, Accor’s award-winning booking platform and loyalty programme. Through ALL Accor, members enjoy access to a global network of hotels, preferential rates, exclusive experiences and a wide range of rewards across hospitality, dining, entertainment and lifestyle.
