The trailer of Taapsee Pannu’s upcoming film, Gandhari, was unveiled by the makers on Tuesday (August 25, 2026). Written and produced by Kanika Dhillon, the film has been directed by Devashish Makhija and also stars Ishwak Singh, Swastika Mukherjee, Mita Vashisht and Chhaya Kadam in pivotal roles.
The trailer begins with the disappearance of Bani’s (Taapsee) daughter from a train. After that it is revealed that Bani loses her vision and has to train in order to find her daughter, who seems to have been kidnapped along with other girls. The story is set in the fictional town of Joypurra as Bani takes matters in her own hands to start her parallel investigation. The film promises to be an intense action-thriller, with Taapsee seen beating up goons with her lost eyesight.

The film marks Taapsee’s reunion with Kanika after Phir Aayi Hasseen Dillruba. Speaking about being part of the film, Taapsee said in a statement, “The role demanded a great deal physically, but it was her resilience, conviction and unwavering spirit that truly drew me in. Reuniting with Kanika as well as Netflix once again was incredibly special- over the years, we’ve built a creative partnership rooted in trust and a shared love for telling stories about complex, compelling women.”
Devashish added, “What drew me to Gandhari was the cinematic potential to visually build a mysterious, layered world that hasn’t been seen before on screen. Yet, beneath all of the suspense, peril and action is a universal story of human choices, consequences, and the extraordinary lengths someone can go to for the one they love most.”
The film will be released on Netflix on September 3.
