In response to JD Vance’s remarks, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu claimed that India provides “tremendous” support for his nation.
In response to JD Vance’s recent remarks that Israel had no “powerful ally” outside than the United States, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu referred to India as one of Israel’s biggest backers on Sunday.
Netanyahu stated that India offers Israel “tremendous support” in an interview with Fox News.Other friends of ours include a tiny nation called India. “It has 1.4 billion people, and boy, do we have a tremendous support there,” said the Israeli leader, who has been the target of intense international criticism due to his nation’s wars in Gaza, Iran, and Lebanon.
Netanyahu went on to say that he appreciated US Vice President JD Vance and referred to President Donald Trump as Israel’s “greatest friend” in the White House. However, this does not imply that I concur with everything Vance says, and I must make this clear,” he stated.
Vance cautioned Israel not to meddle with its “only powerful ally” weeks prior to Netanyahu’s comments.
The Israeli prime minister went on to say that his nation has numerous more allies and that he is “flooded by the overwhelming support” from India on Facebook.
He continued by saying that having “anti-Israeli, anti-Semitic material” on social media is “fashionable” in many nations, without mentioning any specific individuals.
However, he asserted that he is called up to sign contracts or asked to “teach us some of the things that your military does” by leaders of these alleged nations. Therefore, the relationships are not exactly as they seem, and we have a huge number of friends,” Netanyahu stated.
As ceasefire negotiations with Iran progress, Vance’s comments during a White House press briefing seemed to indicate a new direction in US-Israel relations. If I was in the cabinet of the Israeli government, I might not be assaulting the only powerful partner that I have anyplace left in the entire world,” Vance remarked, while praising the US’ memorandum struck with Iran last month in a key breakthrough to end the war.
Netanyahu Explains His Position on Lebanon
Despite several pledges of a ceasefire, Israel has refused to comply with the US-Iranian pact, which calls for the withdrawal of Israeli forces from Lebanon.
In an explanation of Israel’s position on Lebanon on Sunday, Netanyahu stated that certain Christian villages in southern Lebanon have requested to be annexed by Israel in order to be shielded from Hezbollah militants.
“Christian villages in Lebanon, some of them have actually asked to be annexed to Israel, because we protect them against the Hezbollah, Hezbollah fanatics who want to kill them, and we do the same things with Christians everywhere,” Netanyahu said to Fox News.
