Dhurandhar, directed by Aditya Dhar, is still going well at the box office. The Ranveer Singh-starring movie is shattering records even six weeks after it was released. Filmmaker Ram Gopal Varma has now predicted the enormous success of its sequel due to its extraordinary success.
In a lengthy post on X, the director explained what “stardom” really means, calling it the largest multi-starrer film in Indian cinema history.
“Dhurandhar 2 will be the biggest multi-starrer ever, in the history of cinema, because each and every character in the first film has become enormously huge in the audience’s mind, in terms of both their value and impact, which is what true stardom is really about,” he wrote.
“The characters in the first part could have been small or big, but now they are all giant superstars, so #Dhurandhar2 will be the BIGGEST MULTI STARRER ever,” he continued.

Ram Gopal Varma has already commended Dhurandhar for its potential. The director sent a lengthy message detailing the epic action thriller’s quest to become the biggest Hindi picture ever a few days after it debuted in theaters on December 5.
“Whenever a pathbreaking and monstrous hit like #Dhurandhar comes, the industry people will wish to ignore it because they will feel threatened by it due to their inability to match its standards,” he wrote in a post on X, pointing out how the film challenges various narratives in the industry. They will therefore perceive it as a nightmare that will end when they awaken in their own movies.
“This is even more true of all the so-called pan-India biggies, which are currently under various stages of production,” he went on. They were all written and mounted, based on films produced prior to #Dhurandhar, which is the complete opposite of what they all thought would be successful. Even more concerning is the fact that #dhurandhar is the most talked-about movie of the past 50 years in addition to being an enormous hit.

The box office receipts for Dhurandhar thus far
At the domestic box office, Dhurandhar has brought in Rs 871.90 crore. It appears to have no intention of stopping, demonstrating Bollywood’s hegemony over pan-Indian cinema. Sara Arjun, R Madhavan, Sanjay Dutt, Arjun Rampal, Gaurav Gera, Rakesh Bedi, and others play significant parts in the movie.
