Jonathan Bailey talked candidly about his upbringing as a gay child and how it impacted his academic career. In an interview, he stated, “I felt scared and I felt alone and I felt entirely limited at various points in my life,” as reported by People.
Bailey is an ambassador for the nonprofit organization Just Like Us, which assists LGBTQ+ adolescents in schools and is based in the United Kingdom. According to a poll conducted by the organization, LGBTQ+ people between the ages of 11 and 18 were twice as likely to be bullied and to suffer from anxiety and depression.
I experienced all of it, “the actor said while refering to the findings, adding, “It became evident very early on that something very distinct and clear to me about who I was, it wasn’t safe and it wasn’t appreciated.”
Bailey talked candidly about growing more at ease with reality as he ages in his People cover story interview.
“I’ve been like, ‘I’ve got this,’ at different points in my life, which is sometimes met with a deep spike of fear and self-doubt.” I was incredibly self-assured when I was younger, and I think I lost that as I got older,” he remarked.
Isn’t it true that we’re all attempting to return to the source? According to People, Bailey went on, “But I was swimming in the sea with a good gang about an hour ago, and I felt all right in my skin.”
Bailey called the title of “Sexiest Man Alive for 2025” from People Magazine “absolutely absurd” and “flattering.” On “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon,” Bailey’s identity was formally revealed.
Regarding the distinction, Bailey told People magazine, “It’s a huge honor.” I’m obviously really flattered. And it’s really ridiculous. I’m eager for some friends and family to find out because it’s been a secret.”
Jonathan Bailey began his acting career with the Royal Shakespeare Company in London when he was seven years old. He soon became an expert on stage and television. Although the popular murder thriller “Broadchurch” gave him his first significant TV break, he received a lot of praise for his portrayal of Lord Anthony Bridgerton in the Netflix series “Bridgerton.”
“Heartstopper” and “Fellow Travelers” are two of his other noteworthy credits. Bailey most recently starred in the films “Jurassic World: Rebirth” and “Wicked.”
