ANA’s Free Domestic Airfare Offer Returns This Autumn

ANA (All Nippon Airways) and its joint venture partner Lufthansa are once again offering their Free Domestic Airfare Offer this autumn for travellers from the UK and Europe visiting Japan this winter, as part of this year’s collaborative advertising campaign.

For a limited period from 1 to 30 September 2026, special fares to Japan will be available for travel between 1 December 2026 and 28 February 2027, giving customers the opportunity to experience Japan’s unique winter attractions.

The Stopover & Add-on benefit is back for a second year and will apply to these fares. Eligible customers can add up to two ANA domestic flight sectors at no additional airfare when booking them with their international itinerary during the campaign window, allowing them to combine a wide range of destinations from ANA’s extensive domestic network of over 40 destinations across Japan.

Following the success of their 2025 Free Domestic Airfare Offer, ANA and Lufthansa are once again offering the promotion this autumn as part of this joint campaign with the Japan National Tourism Organization (JNTO). Recent research conducted by JNTO found that 69.2% of UK travellers are now aware of destinations in Japan beyond Tokyo, Osaka and Kyoto, highlighting growing interest in regional Japan.

ANA remains committed to encouraging a more balanced distribution of travel demand across Japan and making regional travel easier and more accessible. Building on the success of last year’s campaign, ANA hopes to inspire travellers this winter not only to enjoy seasonal experiences such as snowy landscapes, hot springs and regional cuisine, but also to venture beyond Japan’s best-known destinations and discover the diverse attractions of Japan’s regions in greater depth.

At the heart of the offer is the Stopover & Add-on Free Fare offered by ANA, Lufthansa and ITA Airways, which enables customers and travel partners to create flexible, multi-destination itineraries. By combining the Stopover benefit with the existing Add-on Free Fare, passengers in all cabin classes can incorporate destinations beyond major cities such as Tokyo and Kyoto into their journeys at no additional airfare. These may include the dramatic landscapes of Tohoku, the onsen towns of Kyushu, or the islands of Okinawa.

While travel demand has traditionally been concentrated in major destinations such as Tokyo, Osaka and Kyoto, ANA, Lufthansa, ITA Airways and JNTO aim to encourage a more balanced spread of tourism across Japan through initiatives such as this domestic airfare offer.

By providing access to more than 40 destinations through one of Japan’s most extensive domestic networks, ANA aims to make regional travel more accessible and provide customers with greater opportunities to experience the diverse culture, nature, cuisine and unique local attractions found throughout Japan.

Encouraging travellers to visit lesser-visited regions can also help ease pressure on Japan’s most popular tourism destinations and contribute to the development of more sustainable tourism.

The offer is available to customers who book eligible fares between 1 and 30 September 2026 and travel within the applicable travel period. ANA will continue to develop initiatives that encourage more customers to discover destinations across Japan, considering market conditions, customer needs and the impact of the campaign on regional travel demand.

Terms and conditions apply*. Customers are encouraged to visit ANA’s website for full details regarding eligible fares, applicable conditions and route options.
