Bombay Creamery will offer ice creams made with real dairy cream across formats including cones, cups, tubs, bars and sticks, with prices starting at Rs 10
Reliance Consumer Products (RCPL) on Tuesday announced its entry into India’s ice cream market with the launch of Bombay Creamery, as the company looks to expand its presence in the fast-growing consumer goods segment.
The FMCG arm of Reliance Industries said in a media release that the Bombay Creamery will offer ice creams made with dairy cream across formats including cones, cups, tubs, bars and sticks, with prices starting at Rs 10.
The brand will initially be available in western India before being rolled out across the country.
The launch marks RCPL’s entry into the ice cream category and adds another consumer segment to Reliance’s expanding FMCG portfolio. The company said it plans to use its national distribution network and retail presence to scale the brand.
“Dairy shouldn’t need shortcuts,” T Krishnakumar, director, Reliance Consumer Products, said.
“RCPL is not just entering the ice cream category — we’re committing to it. Made with real dairy cream, Bombay Creamery guarantees the promise of genuine taste of a real ice cream every single time, at a price every Indian family can afford,” he added.
Reliance expands FMCG push
RCPL has been expanding its presence in India’s consumer goods market by building brands across food, beverages and household products. Its portfolio includes brands such as Campa, Independence and various packaged food and beverage products.
The ice cream launch gives the company another category where distribution scale and pricing could be key competitive factors.
RCPL said Bombay Creamery is positioned as an accessible premium dairy brand, combining what it described as global quality standards with affordable pricing.
The company said the portfolio has been developed around the use of authentic dairy ingredients, particularly real dairy cream.
Bombay Creamery will initially target consumers in western India, with a wider national launch planned in the coming period.
