As summer draws to a close and September signals a return to routine, Furore Grand Hotel invites travellers to embrace one final moment of pause on a lesser-known side of the Amalfi Coast. Perched across nine levels of terraced gardens overlooking the Mediterranean, in one of the region’s most unspoilt corners, the hotel offers a retreat centred around movement, nature, gastronomy and restorative wellbeing.
Away from the bustle of the Coast’s crowded destinations, Furore reveals a quieter and more authentic side of the Amalfi Coast. Referred to as the “village that doesn’t exist”, Furore is known for its scattered houses and colourful murals dotted around the town, as well as its award-winning wine. From the property, guests have direct access via a beautiful path leading down to the Fiordo di Furore and its postcard-worthy beach, as well as some of the Amalfi Coast’s most iconic hiking routes, including the Path of the Gods, with incredible views of icons like Praiano and Positano, among others.
Back at Furore Grand Hotel, Petramare Spa is the perfect place to unwind after a day of exploring. Spanning more than 2,000 square metres, the largest in the region, the spa offers heated pools, a sauna, Turkish bath, panoramic outdoor pools, yoga decks and a sea-facing outdoor gym, all designed around the Mediterranean landscape.
Unlike the lemon-led rituals traditionally associated with the Amalfi Coast, Petramare draws inspiration from another defining element of Furore’s landscape: the olive tree, a symbol of longevity, harmony and regeneration. Olive oil, kernels and leaves are combined with native botanicals throughout its treatments, while bespoke fragrances inspired by olive groves, Mediterranean herbs and the coastal landscape accompany each ritual.
Among Petramare’s most distinctive experiences is its dedicated Head Spa, still a rarity on the Amalfi Coast. The ritual combines scalp and body exfoliation, natural face and scalp masks and deeply relaxing techniques designed to encourage both physical and emotional release. The spa is also home to an Herbarium, where Mediterranean botanicals are selected and blended into personalised fragrances and cosmetic preparations, creating a more immersive connection with the surrounding landscape.
Wellbeing at Furore extends beyond the spa and into the hotel’s approach to food. At the Michelin-starred Bluh Furore, resident chef Vincenzo Russo, named Best Chef Under 35 at the Food&Wine Italia Awards 2025 and under the culinary direction of Enrico Bartolini, celebrates Campanian ingredients, seasonality and the traditions of the surrounding territory through a contemporary Mediterranean lens.
From sunrise yoga and walks through olive groves to hikes above the coast, long afternoons at the spa and Michelin-starred dining, Furore Grand Hotel offers a different side of the Amalfi Coast. Away from the crowds, it brings together the beauty, food and slower pace for a final summer escape that leaves guests feeling genuinely refreshed and ready for the new season.
