The trailer of Arshad Warsi and Pratik Gandhi’s upcoming film, Ghamasaan, was unveiled by the makers recently. Directed by Tigmanshu Dhulia, the film will be released on ZEE5 on September 11.
The trailer gives a glimpse into the violent world of the film where Arshad plays a dreaded dacoit Maharaj, whose name is enough to send a fearful wave across. He has pocketed the police and politicians and maintained his havoc in the villages as he keeps hidden in the forest. Pratik plays an IPS officer, Aditya, who is called-in to control the menace of Maharaj. Using his strategic abilities, Aditya ventures into Maharaj’s territory and takes on the violent gangster. The film promises to be a thrilling cat and mouse chase between the two.
Speaking about the film, Arshad said in a statement, “Maharaj is a very exciting character because he allowed me to explore a completely different side of myself as an actor. Playing a negative character with so much darkness, unpredictability and rawness was challenging, but also something I genuinely enjoyed.”
Pratik added, “What drew me to Ghamasaan was the passion and intensity that drive Aditya. He is courageous, fearless and unwavering in his mission to bring Maharaj to justice. But as he goes deeper into the pursuit, he discovers that he isn’t fighting just one individual—he is fighting a well-designed system. That realisation changes the scale of his battle and makes his journey all the more compelling.”
Ghamasaan has travelled through the noted film festivals including MAMI Mumbai Film Festival, Cinevesture International Film Festival and Chicago South Asian Film Festival.
It also stars Rajpal Yadav and Ishita Dutta in pivotal roles and is produced by Jyoti Deshpande (Jio Studios), Piiyush Singh, Abhayanand Singh, Saurabh Gupta & Ashwini Chaudhary (Golden Ratio Films) and Miten Shah (Yaelstar Films).
