177 political appointments from the previous Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government have been canceled by the Delhi government, which is currently headed by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). According to IANS, this decision, which takes effect immediately, impacts important posts in a number of boards, academies, and statutory bodies under the Delhi government.
Media reports claim that the canceled appointments included party leaders, office-bearers, and current and former AAP MLAs from a total of 17 bodies, including the Delhi Jal Board, Animal Welfare Board, Hindi Academy, Urdu Academy, Punjabi Academy, Sanskrit Academy, and the Teerth Yatra Vikas Samiti.
MLA Vinay Mishra, the vice-chairperson of the Delhi Jal Board, AAP MLA Pawan Rana, the board’s chairperson, and Preeti Tomar, the wife of former AAP minister Jitender Tomar, were among those dismissed. According to the study, a number of other party politicians were nominated to organizations including the Punjabi Academy and the Delhi Haj Committee.
Karnail Singh and Som Dutt, both current AAP MLAs, were also dismissed as non-official members of the Delhi Building and Other Construction Workers Advisory Committee, according to PTI.
AAP MLA Gopal Rai, who previously chaired the Delhi Agricultural Marketing Board, is among the members and chairpersons who were fired. Furthermore, six unofficial members have been let go.
Other panels, including the Delhi Biodiversity Council, Delhi Village Development Board, Delhi Animal Welfare Board, Shahjahanabad Redevelopment Corporation, Delhi Jal Board, and Tree Authority, have all had their memberships revoked.
Additionally, the current memberships of several academies have been canceled, including those in Hindi, Urdu, Punjabi, Sanskrit, Urdu, Sahitya Kala Parishad, Sindhi, Maithili, and Bhojpuri.
