After being admitted to the hospital, renowned singer Asha Bhosle passed away on Sunday. Her granddaughter Zanai Bhosle shared a heartfelt video in her honour.
At the age of 92, renowned singer Asha Bhosle passed away in Mumbai on Sunday following a brief hospital stay. Zanai Bhosle, her granddaughter, has been honouring her grandmother on social media. She shared an unseen video of Asha dancing and said that the singer would like everyone to enjoy life.

On Wednesday, Zanai posted an unseen video with Asha to Instagram Stories. Zanai and Asha are shown in the film standing on a balcony and observing a celebration taking place in the streets below. As her granddaughter encourages her, the singer even does a little jig. Before Zanai kisses Asha’s forehead, the grandmother and granddaughter embrace and take in the scenery. While uploading the video, she commented, “She would want us to celebrate just the way she celebrated life (Om and heart emojis).”
Asha Bhosle is referred to by Zanai Bhosle as her best friend.
Zanai confirmed Asha’s hospitalisation and shared a photo of the two of them prior to Asha’s passing. “My grandmother, Asha Bhosle, has been admitted to the hospital due to extreme exhaustion and a chest infection. We ask that you respect our privacy,” she wrote. Treatment is proceeding; hopefully, everything will go well, and we’ll keep you informed.
“As I wake up this morning, I realise I have lost my partner in crime, my best friend, a person who completed my entire world and the first person to hold me when I was born,” Zanai wrote in a video she shared on Instagram following Asha’s burial on Monday. Now what should I do? When I wake up in the morning, who should I hug and drink tea with? Who am I meant to joke around with or who will be waiting for me every day when I go home? At Asha’s funeral, she also appeared distraught and was comforted by Tabu.
The passing of Asha Bhosle
Before passing away on Sunday, Asha was briefly sent to Breach Candy Hospital in Mumbai due to tiredness and a chest ailment. Anand Bhosle, her son, carried out her final ceremonies in the Shivaji Park Crematorium. Prior to that, her body was held at her house so that family members may pay their final respects. Asha was buried with full state honours. After the funeral, Zanai stated, “So overwhelmed with emotions, I’ll write something when I can, but I have to say that there were so many people who have respected and honoured her today and beyond it all showed her so much love.”
