By increasing the number of trains offered under Leave Travel Concession (LTC), the Ministry of Railways has significantly improved the travel experience for government employees.

A press statement states that in addition to the 144 current high-end trains like Rajdhani, Shatabdi, and Duronto, government personnel can travel on 385 premium trains, like as the 136 Vande Bharat, 97 Humsafar, and 8 Tejas Express trains.

According to the press release, 144 high-end trains in the Rajdhani, Shatabdi, and Duronto series already provide opulent AC travel for government personnel. As a result of this decision, government personnel will be able to purchase tickets for long-distance travel on a total of 385 trains operating throughout the nation.

The Department of Personnel & Training announced this expansion with the goal of giving all central government employees access to top-notch travel options. Employees may use their LTC to go to their homes or any other location in India under the new rules.

Employees can take advantage of chair car travel up to level 11 on the Vande Bharat, Tejas, and Shatabdi express trains for short and medium-distance rail travel. Level 12 and higher employees are eligible to travel in executive chair cars on these trains. Employees on level 12 and up are eligible for AC first class travel on long-distance trains with coaches that feature berths, such as Rajdhani-style luxury trains. According to the statement on Friday, personnel in levels 6 through 11 are eligible for AC second class travel, while those in levels 5 and lower are eligible for AC third class travel during their LTC.

During a four-year block period, government employees are permitted to travel to their homes or elsewhere in India under the concessional travel provision known as LTC. Workers are eligible to receive LTC for both their hometown and other locales over the course of four years, or for both in a two-year period.
