Three days before its release this week, on April 15, Akshay Kumar and the whole Kesari 2 crew attended the film’s big premiere in New Delhi. Akshay Kumar made a special request to the audience during his speech at the occasion.
When viewing Kesari 2 in theaters, Akshay specifically asked that everyone put their phones away and give the movie their full attention.
As he spoke at the event, Kumar asked the crowd to put their phones away and pay close attention to the dialogue in the movie. “I respectfully ask that everyone put their phones in their pockets and watch the entire movie, paying attention to every word. It will have great significance. It will be embarrassing for the movie if you attempt to check Instagram while it is playing. Therefore, I ask that everyone put their phones away.
A number of well-known political figures and dignitaries attended the special screening, including Union Minister Hardeep Singh Puri, Manjinder Singh Sirsa, Kapil Mishra, Ashish Sood, Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta, and BJP Members of Parliament Anurag Thakur and Bansuri Swaraj.
The ceremony, which took place in a famous Chanakyapuri theater, featured personal greetings from lead performers Akshay Kumar and R. Madhavan. Since it was an advance screening of the film before it was shown in theaters, there was a great deal of excitement and anticipation.
The movie, which was directed by first-time director Karan Singh Tyagi, is based on the real-life account of lawyer C Sankaran Nair, who battled the British Empire in a 1920s court dispute.
Based on the book The Case That Shook the Empire, written by Raghu Palat, Nair’s great-grandson, and his wife Pushpa Palat, the movie revolves around the 1924 slander lawsuit. In this case, Michael O’Dwyer, the former Lieutenant Governor of Punjab and the mastermind of the Jallianwala Bagh massacre, sued Nair after he revealed British atrocities in his published writings.
The release date of Karan Johar’s Kesari 2 is April 18, 2025.
