Gujarat’s global tech pitch gains momentum as CM Bhupendra Patel takes semiconductors, AI and deep-tech to US, Canada
The Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit 2027 is taking Gujarat’s investment pitch to the US and Canada, with Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel leading the state’s first international roadshow ahead of the 11th edition of the flagship investment summit.
The delegation is travelling across Washington D.C., New York, San Francisco and Toronto to engage global investors, technology leaders, industry executives and the Gujarati diaspora, with a focus on semiconductors, artificial intelligence, data centres and deep-tech.
The January 2027 summit is being positioned as a platform to attract global capital while building technology and strategic partnerships. The state said, “VGGS 2027 is being positioned as a key platform to attract global investment, foster innovation, advance technology partnerships, and build strategic collaborations.”
The roadshow comes as Gujarat seeks to strengthen its position in emerging technology and advanced manufacturing while linking its domestic industrial base with global supply chains.
Silicon Valley connection in focus
In San Francisco, Patel met members of the Gujarati diaspora and highlighted their contribution to Silicon Valley’s semiconductor, AI and technology ecosystem.
The state said the “Gujarat-Silicon Valley connection will be further strengthened through knowledge sharing, mentorship, and technology collaboration,” as it looks to connect global Gujarati talent and networks with companies operating in Gujarat.

Google talks focus on AI and skills
At Google, Patel held discussions with Vice President Chandu Thota and senior executives on expanding AI training programmes for youth, students and educators.
The discussions also covered applications of AI in agriculture, including crop patterns, soil health and climate resilience, as well as potential sovereign AI solutions for data security.
Perplexity explores Gujarat AI, data centre potential
Discussions with Perplexity AI CEO Aravind Srinivas focused on Gujarat’s digital infrastructure, skilled workforce and policy environment.
The release said the talks covered opportunities for “engineering and R&D presence, technology collaboration, data centres, and hybrid infrastructure.”
Micron talks underline semiconductor push
Semiconductors are another major plank of Gujarat’s global investment strategy. Patel’s meeting with Micron Technology Chairman and CEO Sanjay Mehrotra focused on the progress of the company’s semiconductor facility in Sanand.
The state reiterated its commitment to strengthening Gujarat’s role in the global semiconductor ecosystem through centres including Sanand and Dholera.
Walmart talks target global markets for MSMEs
The roadshow also focused on expanding overseas opportunities for smaller businesses. In Washington D.C., Patel met Walmart Executive Vice President Dan Bryant to discuss connecting Gujarat’s MSMEs and artisans with global supply chains.
The initiative is aimed at “expanding their access to international markets” and creating more opportunities for local enterprises to reach global consumers.
The state said the first international roadshow has added “fresh momentum to its global investment and business outreach ahead of VGGS 2027”, with discussions opening avenues across semiconductors, AI, data centres, deep-tech, MSMEs and global supply chains.
