New Delhi-based indie-pop/rock quartet Twin Strings’ Karwaan 2026 tour is underway. After performances in Kolkata and Bengaluru and Mumbai, the group will next play in Pune, Hyderabad and Delhi on October 9, 10 and 24, respectively, promising a melodious October for music lovers.

The name Twin Strings comes from its core team: founders and twins Sagar and Sahil, and musicians Manav and Mohit, the ‘strings’. “Sahil speaks less, so we have to ask him more questions,” laughs Sagar over the phone from Delhi. While Sagar and Sahil play guitar and keyboard, Mohit Deen is a percussionist and Manav a singer-guitarist. Beyond the core four, the group has multiple line-ups, with musicians changing according to the show.

To sing and travel

‘Karwaan’, or ‘a group of people travelling together’ in Persian, is inspired by a simple thought: blending the members’ twin passions for music and travel. “The four of us love travelling, and this is our journey,” says Sagar, an engineer-turned-musician. Interestingly, Sahil and Manav are also engineers by qualification, while Mohit is an MBA graduate.

When the four began making music together from the room-cum-studio in their Delhi home in 2017, the journey from singing covers to creating original music seemed almost impossible. The six-city tour reflects their nine-year journey. “Now that people are appreciating our music and loving our songs, we want them to be part of our Karwaan. The idea is to take the journey global, but we start with India, where we belong,” says Sagar.

Melodious blend
Originals

Dhalti Rahe, Baat itni si hai, Baarish ka asar, Karwaan and Baadal

Covers: Sufiyana sham, Ghungroo x Bang Bang and Travel Medley

The two-hour Karwaan concerts feature a mix of originals and medleys. “When the crowd gives us more energy and excitement, the set’s duration will naturally extend,” says Sahil, recalling their Bengaluru show.

Love and its many forms remain central to their songs. While the romantic track Dhalti Rahe captures the joy of being in love and watching a sunset together, Khabar explores unrequited love. “We sing about different love stories,” says Sahil. “We are lovable people and trying to spread love with music.”

While the theme has remained constant over nine years, their songwriting has evolved from complex to conversational. “Our sound, lyrics and songwriting process have changed. Old-school love songs were deep and nuanced, but today, the words have become simpler and more conversational to engage Gen Z, whose language of love is more influenced by social media,” explains Sagar. “The melodies, too, have become more modern, moving from acoustic guitars and simple piano arrangements to synth-based sounds and electronic elements.”

The band also has a word of appreciation for Hyderabad audiences. “Music lovers in Hyderabad enjoy songs across genres in Telugu, Hindi and English, but they are also respectful towards musicians. We often see people wanting a photograph only with the lead singer, but in Hyderabad, they want a photograph with all the members. This recognition and appreciation of the entire group and their effort is remarkable,” says Sagar.

Twin Strings’ Karwaan 2026 tour will be in Pune, Hyderabad and Delhi on October 9, 10 and 24 at Epitome, Tavaro Resort and Ansal Plaza, respectively. Tickets: BookMyShow.
