The woman asked that the BJP dismiss Krishnakumar, claiming that he lacked the moral authority to spearhead demonstrations against Rahul Mamkootathil.

Claims of sexual harassment against him were denied by BJP Kerala Vice President C Krishnakumar on Wednesday, who described the accusations as an effort to deflect criticism from demonstrations against Rahul Mamkootathil.

Mamkootathil, a Congress leader and Palakkad MLA, is also accused of numerous cases of sexual assault.

By bringing up all of this, I want to be clear that I will not back down from the protests against Rahul Mamkootathil if you believe you can scare me. Strong protests will continue in BJP Palakkad. The residents of Palakkad are aware that the accusations made against me are untrue,” Krishnakumar stated.

The woman accused Krishnakumar of sexually abusing her a few years prior and filed a complaint against him with Kerala BJP president Rajeev Chandrasekhar. According to the Malayalam news website Manorama, she complained to V Muraleedharan, MT Ramesh, and Subhash (who was the organization’s general secretary at the time), but nothing was done about the BJP representative.

The complaint urged that the BJP dismiss Krishnakumar, claiming that he lacked the moral authority to spearhead protests against Rahul Mamkootathil.

Following Malayalam actress Rini Ann George’s accusations of misconduct against “a young leader” of a prominent political party, Rahul Mamkootathil resigned as Youth Congress state president and was suspended from primary membership of the Congress. George claimed that the leader had repeatedly sent her unpleasant texts and extended an invitation to stay at a hotel. Later, he was accused of similar offenses by a transgender person and other women.

Protests against Mamkootathil have been spearheaded by Krishnakumar, a longtime BJP spokesperson in Palakkad.

After party leader and current MLA Shafi Parambil was elected as the Lok Sabha MP from Vatakara in the general election, Mamkootathil was elected as an MLA in November of last year in a by-election for the Palakkad seat.
