Sydney Sweeney’s appearance has always been scrutinized, and rumors of plastic surgery have followed her for years. Together with her co-star Amanda Seyfried from The Housemaid, the 28-year-old actor has now candidly addressed the rumors in a recent Allure interview.

Sweeney chose the subject that has followed her since she was a teenager when asked to refute a beauty rumor of her choosing. Let’s refute everyone of them. I mean, I’ve never finished a task,” she remarked. “You have no idea how afraid I am of needles.”

“You gotta call me, and I’ll give you a little bit of Ativan, and you’ll be so excited,” Seyfried responded in jest. However, you don’t currently require it.

Sweeney doubled down on her remarks by making light of the internet rumors. “No, you guys, my face would be even if I did.” Sweeney disclosed a personal fact that many fans were unaware of when Seyfried questioned what she meant: a childhood injury left her with permanent facial asymmetry.

She revealed that one eye opened “a little more than the other” after she was hurt in a wakeboarding accident and needed 19 stitches. She clarified that the surgery she had at the time was not cosmetic but rather medical in nature.

Sweeney also criticized the increasing popularity of side-by-side pictures that contrast her present red carpet outfits with those from her upbringing. “You can’t compare a 12-year-old photo of me to a 26-year-old photo of me with expert lighting and cosmetics! “I will obviously look different,” she remarked. “Everyone on social media is crazy.”

The actor has previously spoken out against the expectations of beauty. She talked about the severe criticism she encountered as a youngster attempting to break into Hollywood in an interview with Variety that was published on October 27.

“I have very strong eyebrow muscles,” she recalled, adding that she was instructed to “fix my face” if she wanted to succeed when she was just 16 years old. “I ought to get Botox. I was sixteen.

“I’ve never gotten anything done,” she repeated, firmly putting an end to those aspirations. I have a severe fear of needles. Not a single tattoo. Nothing. I’ll age gracefully.”
