Adah Sharma’s house feels almost rebellious in Mumbai, a city that is fixated on making the most of every square foot. Her flat comes up as a huge expanse of light, air, and possibilities rather than elaborate furnishings or striking furniture. When the location was recently made public on filmmaker Farah Khan’s YouTube channel, it instantly defied preconceived notions about what a celebrity home ought to be like.

The flat, which was once inhabited by the late actor Sushant Singh Rajput, now embodies a completely different concept that is based on freedom of movement, openness, and creativity.

But for Adah Sharma, the emptiness is deliberate. She refers to her house as a “blank canvas”—a place where she may freely move, practice, and create. The open plan puts function above form, making the apartment a personal studio rather than a display, whether it’s for Kathak practice, physical training, or impromptu dancing sessions.

Reevaluating Comfort

Adah incorporates minimalism into her everyday life in addition to aesthetics. She embraces a grounded lifestyle that complements her body-centric routines and prefers to sit on the floor. In order to replicate the comfort of seats, guests are often provided with soft mats; however, Farah was given a rare exemption in the form of a bean bag.

Individual Touches That Count

The house is not at all impersonal, despite its sparseness. The residence is spiritually anchored by a calm temple space, and her career achievements are displayed in a special award gallery. It’s interesting to note that a plastic sword used for martial arts practice is also kept there, serving as a reminder that her residence serves as a training area.
