After a thrilling 31-28 victory over Puneri Paltan at the Thyagaraj Indoor Stadium on Friday, Dabang Delhi K.C. was declared the Pro Kabaddi League (PKL) Season 12 champions in front of a full home crowd. The list of award winners and their prize money is provided here.
Today in New Delhi, Dabang Delhi emerged victorious in the 12th Pro Kabaddi League (PKL) tournament after defeating Puneri Paltan. They secured their second-ever championship by winning the match 31–28. By completing this, Dabang Delhi lifted the championship, becoming the first home team to do so since U Mumba in Season 2. In the meantime, Fazel Atrachali emerged as the PKL’s most prosperous foreigner.
The raiding team was led by Ajinkya Pawar with six points and Neeraj Narwal with eight. Aditya Shinde recorded a Super 10 for Puneri Paltan, while Abinesh Nadarajan gained four tackle points, but they were in vain. In the grand finale, Ashu Malik and Aslam Inamdar opened the accounts of their respective teams, as has been the case for the majority of the season. After that, Neeraj Narwal took over for Dabang Delhi, scoring a tackle and a two-point raid to put his team ahead by four points in the first few possessions.
However, Gaurav Khatri made it a one-point game with a number of Super Tackles, thus Puneri Paltan was unable to give in to the early pressure. After a thrilling first quarter, Ajinkya Pawar made sure Dabang Delhi had a two-point lead as the pace slowed a little as both teams used the Do-Or-Die tactic.
At one point, Puneri Paltan came back to cut the opponent’s lead to just one point after the hosts had managed to grab a six-point lead. Dabang Delhi, on the other hand, maintained their composure admirably to win the championship and silence Puneri Paltan and their supporters.
