New Delhi: Shehbaz Sharif, the prime minister of Pakistan, is in hot water after making a statement that could damage his reputation. Mr. Sharif, who frequently loses his temper and becomes agitated during rallies, has finally declared that his name will be expunged if Pakistan fails to surpass India in terms of economic growth and development.
Mr. Sharif was observed becoming highly passionate and agitated during his public rally during his recent visit to Dera Ghazi Khan in Pakistan’s Punjab region. He was observed banging the podium desk and thumping his chest, throwing his arms and fist in the air, and occasionally jumping at the podium.
Mr. Sharif assured the populace that his administration is making every effort to meet the demands of the average citizen, saying, “We will work day and night to ensure the situation in Pakistan improves.” Pakistan has always been favored by the Almighty. However, he added that “My name won’t be Shehbaz Sharif if due to our efforts Pakistan does not leave India behind” in terms of development and progress, seemingly in response to an adrenaline surge.
Additionally, he swore on the life of his older brother, the former prime minister of Pakistan, Nawaz Sharif, declaring, “I am a supporter and admirer of Nawaz Sharif. I make a commitment to his fortunate life today that we will all fight together to defeat India and elevate Pakistan to glory till the day I have the strength and determination to accomplish so.”
Shehbaz Sharif came to Dera Ghazi Khan to reassure the populace that his government would deal with the social and economic issues they brought to light. He allegedly unveiled some crucial infrastructure projects in the area while he was there. Pakistan has been experiencing a serious economic and financial crisis for a number of years, and its heavy international debt load has forced it to take drastic steps to pay it back.
Mr. Sharif was heavily criticized following his remarks, which was extensively disseminated on social media. His “tall promises” and “no concrete evidence on ground” were the subject of numerous accusations. On X, some individuals even made fun of the prime minister of Pakistan.
Mr. Sharif had demanded a restart of talks with New Delhi less than two weeks prior to his vow to “defeat India.” India has often insisted that Pakistan must remove terrorism from its territory before negotiations can begin. India’s external affairs ministry has stated that “talks and terror cannot go hand in hand.”
