According to a report, the movie’s pre-sales for the opening day have already surpassed the USD 2 million threshold in the international market. Five days remain until the movie’s theatrical debut, and it is anticipated that the box office receipts will easily surpass three million.
Next week, on December 5, Pushpa 2: The Rule, which stars Rashmika Mandanna, Fahadh Faasil, and Allu Arjun, will be released in theaters. Many trade analysts have already dubbed the eagerly awaited film a “mega blockbuster” far in advance of its cinema debut. The agreement for Pushpa 2’s digital and satellite rights garnered media attention a few months ago since it was the biggest transaction for a movie to date. Additionally, the movie is anticipated to break a number of box office records.
According to Sacnilk, the movie has already made over $2 million USD in foreign markets just from its first day of pre-sales. Pre-sales for the first day in North America total more than USD 1.80 million, which includes USD 1.6 million for the premiere alone. With one week left until the release, the cumulative advance booking gross (for all days) in NA has surpassed two million, which is reportedly the fastest for an Indian title.
According to the Sacnilk report, aside from North America, Pushpa 2 has already generated over USD 230,000 in advance sales in the UK on its first day of release, while Gulf bookings total about USD 80,000 and sales in Australia and other markets total USD 215,000. For the first day, the movie’s total pre-sales abroad came to over USD 2.30 million (Rs 19.50 crores).
Pushpa 2 is expected to debut at Rs 50 crore, the highest amount for an Allu Arjun film, according to the trade. By itself, North America is on track to earn USD 3 million, one of the highest openings ever for an Indian film.
Certification by CBFC
Three minor dialogue and scene modifications have been mandated by the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) for Pushpa 2: The Rule. After recommending the muting of three expletives, the Indian censor board permitted the producers of the Rashmika Mandanna and Allu Arjun film to proceed with its planned release. The movie has received a U/A certificate.
