High above Ploenchit Road, beneath a canopy of 600 illuminated magpies inspired by the Chinese love story of the Weaver Girl and the Cowherd, Nan Bei at Rosewood Bangkok introduces Friday Night Table, a new bi-weekly dining experience celebrating Chinese cuisine and bringing friends and family together at the start of the weekend.
Designed as a relaxed yet elevated Friday evening, Friday Night Table brings together the generosity of sharing-style dining with the refinement of Nan Bei’s contemporary approach to Chinese cuisine. The menu celebrates authentic flavours and culinary traditions from Northern and Southern China, complemented by crafted cocktails, wine and Champagne, and a lively soundtrack that carries the evening from dinner into the weekend.
The Table
Led by Executive Chef Matthew Geng, born and raised in Beijing, Nan Bei’s culinary philosophy draws on the diverse traditions of Chinese cuisine, bringing together regional flavours, time-honoured techniques and the vibrant street-food culture of Beijing.
The Friday Night Table menu is designed for sharing, featuring Nan Bei’s signature Tamarind Flaming Duck, presented tableside, alongside house-made Dim Sum, Rou Jia Mo, a Barbecued Platter, Crispy Organic Chicken with Star Anise Salt, and a choice of Blue Crab Claypot Rice, Claypot Braised Eggplant with Basil or Dan Dan Noodles with Sesame Sauce. The Tamarind Flaming Duck pairs the precision of traditional Peking Duck with the bright sweet-and-sour flavours of Thai tamarind, bringing a distinctly Bangkok character to a Chinese classic.
The Experience
The experience is complemented by an energetic soundtrack and a convivial atmosphere, creating a natural transition from dinner into the weekend. Inspired by Wu Xing, the Chinese philosophy of the Five Elements, wood, fire, earth, metal and water, the beverage offering includes crafted serves and a selection of free-flow options available throughout the evening.
Friday Night Table offers a new way to spend Friday evening in Bangkok — bringing together authentic Chinese cuisine, a relaxed social atmosphere and good company in the distinctive setting of Nan Bei. Designed to be enjoyed at an unhurried pace, the experience invites guests to share, linger and welcome the weekend together.
