Reliance Jio, the country’s largest telecom carrier controlled by Asia’s richest man, Mukesh Ambani, has launched a slew of appealing recharge options to entice subscribers who switched to BSNL in droves after mobile costs were raised last year.

Reliance Jio, India’s largest telecom carrier led by Mukesh Ambani and famed for its low-cost pricing plans, has announced various appealing offers in recent months to compete with its rivals, particularly state-owned BSNL, which has recently experienced a resurgence. One such tariff plan is the Rs 999 plan, which provides unlimited high-speed 5G data and unlimited phone calls for 98 days at Rs 999.

Jio Rs 999 Plan

Jio’s Rs 999 package is designed for consumers who choose long-term validity over the burden of monthly recharges. The plans include 2GB of high-speed daily 4G data, unlimited 5G access (for users in 5G coverage areas and with compatible handsets), unlimited voice calls to any network in the country, free nationwide roaming, and 100 SMS per day, in addition to access to Jio’s supplementary services such as JioTV, JioCloud, and JioCinema.

The plan costs Rs 999 and has a 98-day validity period, equating to less than Rs 10 per day, making it one of the most economical and value-for-money recharge plans on the market.

Jio Rs 189 Plan

Jio, backed by Mukesh Ambani, recently relaunched its cheapest rate option in response to increased competition from competing carriers. Jio had previously withdrawn the Rs 189 package, however it is currently available on the company’s official website under the ‘Affordable Packs’ category.

Jio’s Rs 189 plan includes 2GB of high-speed 4G data (speed restricted at 64kbps when data is depleted), unlimited phone calls to any network in India, 300 SMS, and countrywide roaming, all with a 28-day validity. The low-cost tariff plan is designed for people who rarely use mobile internet and rely mostly on calling services.

The Rs 189 plan, which was priced at Rs 155 prior to the tariff change in July last year, also includes access to Jio’s additional services, such as JioTV, JioCloud, and JioCinema.

Jio’s attractive recharge plans

Reliance Jio, the country’s largest telecom carrier controlled by Asia’s richest man, Mukesh Ambani, has offered a slew of appealing recharge offers to entice subscribers who switched to BSNL in huge numbers after mobile charges were raised significantly in July last year.

According to statistics, BSNL added over 55 million new subscribers during July and August, whereas Reliance Jio suffered losses of over 40 lakh members over the same period.
