METT KSAMIL: A NEW LIFESTYLE ICON TO OPEN ON ALBANIA’S IONIAN COAST

Sunset Hospitality Group (SHG) and AICA Properties today announced the signing of METT Ksamil, marking the brand’s debut in Albania and a new address on one of the fastest-growing destinations along Europe’s Mediterranean coastline.

The signing follows SHG’s recent announcements of METT Milan Torre Velasca and Casa METT Sitges, bringing METT’s portfolio to 12 hotels, 6 of them already open. One of the key engines of Sunset’s global growth, METT continues to expand fast across Europe and Southeast Asia, and will soon enter the Middle East, as part of a broader ecosystem that now spans 112 destinations across 27 countries worldwide.

Set on the Albanian Riviera, often called the Maldives of the Mediterranean for its white sand beaches and turquoise waters, and within easy reach of Corfu, Vlora and Tirana, METT Ksamil is envisioned as a year-round world of leisure, wellness and social life. The hotel is built around light-filled public spaces and a central green atrium, with destination dining, resort-style pools and a rooftop lifestyle deck framing panoramic views across one of Europe’s most sought-after emerging coastlines.

The hotel’s design is entrusted to Studio Fuksas, the internationally acclaimed architecture practice renowned for its bold, innovative approach to hospitality and cultural landmarks worldwide. Their vision will bring a distinctive architectural signature to Ksamil’s evolving skyline.

Dining will center on three signature branded outlets: a beach club, a rooftop pool venue and a specialty restaurant, with further branded concepts shaping the property’s identity. Wellness and business facilities include a fitness and wellness area spanning over 10,000 square feet and a 9,650 square foot conference room, alongside two retail spaces and parking for 167 vehicles.

The signing comes at a pivotal moment for Ksamil and Albania’s southern coast, which are emerging as one of Europe’s most exciting new destinations for luxury coastal living. A growing cluster of lifestyle and luxury hotels, premium resorts and design-led addresses is transforming the Albanian Riviera into the Mediterranean’s next great destination. This evolution is being driven in part by the vision and commitment of Edi Rama, Prime Minister of Albania, together with the country’s Ministry of Tourism and Environment, whose efforts have played a significant role in positioning Albania on the international tourism and luxury hospitality map.

“METT Ksamil is an exciting step in our European growth story,” said Jaime Buxó Clos, CEO of Sunset Hotels & Resorts. “With this signing, METT reaches 12 hotels globally, proof of just how central this brand has become to Sunset’s momentum. Albania’s Ionian coast is fast becoming one of the Mediterranean’s most compelling destinations, and this project lets us bring METT’s signature mix of design, dining and experiential living to a coastline with extraordinary potential. Partnering with AICA Properties gives us a strong foundation to build a landmark property that will define year-round lifestyle hospitality in Ksamil.”

“METT Ksamil is a clear signal of where Sunset is heading,” said Antonio Gonzalez, Chairman and Group CEO of Sunset Hospitality Group. “METT has grown into one of the fastest-growing lifestyle hotel brands in the world, and Albania is exactly the kind of market where that growth belongs next: a coastline with real natural beauty and a rapidly rising international profile, but still relatively untouched by lifestyle hospitality at this level. This signing is also a reminder that Sunset’s ambitions go well beyond hotels. As we grow METT across new markets, we’re equally focused on bringing the full breadth of our lifestyle offering, dining, daylife, nightlife and beyond, into the destinations where we see the greatest long-term potential, and Ksamil is very much one of them.”

“Partnering with Sunset on METT Ksamil is a defining moment for this destination,” said Armand Hoxa from AICA Properties. “We have long believed in the potential of Albania’s southern coast, and bringing a brand of METT’s caliber to Ksamil allows us to deliver a project that this location deserves. This is about more than a hotel, it’s about setting a new benchmark for what the Albanian Riviera can offer international and local travelers, and we’re proud to build that future together with Sunset.”

METT Ksamil marks the next chapter in a fast-unfolding story, one that’s seeing the brand take root across Europe and Southeast Asia and firmly establishing itself as one of the region’s most magnetic lifestyle hospitality names.
