The firm wants to attract more users from Anthropic and Cursor and give them more motivation to utilize ChatGPT and create AI agents through its own platforms, thus it has released a new software for macOS users.

All ChatGPT users, even those with free and Go accounts, will have access to the Codex app for a brief time before they sign up for the higher tier plans, according to the business.
According to a recent post from OpenAI, ChatGPT 4o and subsequent iterations of the AI chatbot will be discontinued this month. The company is able to sunset the older models of ChatGPT thanks to the new version, which is also made feasible by OpenAI’s belief that the updated versions are more reliable and better able to provide consumers with increased accuracy and performance.
