Lakshya, who just starred in Aryan Khan’s first series as a director, The Ba***ds Of Bollywood, has had a fascinating path from TV series to movies. Actor Lakshya has at last made a name for himself in the Hindi film business after over five years in the background. But it took a great deal of perseverance and sacrifice, including leaving a lucrative television position.
Lakshya recently talked about how he left his TV job to pursue a career in film in an interview with Raj Shamani. “I got another TV show where they offered me Rs 20,000-25,000 per day after Porus ended,” he stated. “That’s a lot of money,” my father remarked. In my entire life, I have never seen that much of money. Simply take it.
But Lakshya’s goals were different. He was adamant about becoming a successful movie star. “But there was a stubbornness within me,” he remarked. What prevented me from becoming a movie star? What am I missing? Why couldn’t I do what this one and that one are doing?
Lakshya appeared bound for success when he made the switch from television to film. After months of auditioning, he finally landed a highly sought-after three-film deal with Dharma Productions, which is every newcomer’s dream. But things didn’t work out as expected.
Two of such movies were shelved after going on floors: Collin D’Cunha’s romantic comedy Dostana 2, starring Kartik Aaryan and Janhvi Kapoor, and the romantic drama Bedhadak, starring Shanaya Kapoor. “I just told myself, it’s not your fault,” he added. It’s your responsibility to get up, complete your voice training, read your scenes, work out, watch movies, and continue following your routine. Maintain your regimen.
According to the actor, “I was blank.” I simply allowed it to occur. Fortunately, I never doubted myself. It just happened to me; I had no intention of becoming an actor. Hard effort was the only thing I knew. Why, therefore, should I cease doing that? Who am I blaming, Karan Johar or God? No one is to blame. The movie was simply shelved. I thought there was a reason it was happening. One day, things would be reversed.
Indeed, the roles were reversed. He made his debut as one of Bollywood’s most promising new actors in the blood-soaked action movie Kill, directed by Nikhil Nagesh Bhat. His streaming debut in Aryan Khan’s Netflix series, The Ba***ds of Bollywood, quickly followed, solidifying his reputation as an actor.
