Actress Kriti Sanon discussed the ongoing nepotism controversy in Bollywood at a recent event. See what the actress had to say.
Bollywood star Kriti Sanon discussed nepotism while attending the 55th International Film Festival of India. She openly discussed the difficulties encountered by outsiders as well as how the “media” and “audiences” fuel the nepotism controversy. “It takes time for someone without a ‘film background’ to get the opportunities they dream of,” Kriti noted during the conversation.
Since my arrival, the industry has welcomed me with open arms. Naturally, it takes time to get there when you don’t fit into a movie background. You need time to acquire the opportunities you desire. Even getting those magazine covers takes time. As a result, everything is somewhat difficult. “But after two or three films, nothing can stop you if you keep working hard and are at it,” Kriti stated.
Kriti also expressed her belief that nepotism is not only the fault of the Bollywood industry, pointing out that star kids are promoted by the public and media. Kriti stated, “I don’t think the industry bears a lot of the blame for nepotism. The audience and the media are also involved. The media’s portrayal of certain celebrity children is what viewers desire to see. In light of the audience’s interest in them, the industry believes that a film should be produced with them. Thus, I believe it to be a circle. However, I believe that if you have talent, you will succeed. You will not succeed if you lack talent and if you don’t connect with the audience.
Regarding her career, she most recently appeared in Do Patti, costarring with Shaheer Sheikh and Kajol in a dual role. It debuted last month on Netflix and was only available digitally. Her upcoming roles include Varun Dhawan’s Bhediya 2 and Akshay Kumar’s multi-starrer Housefull 5.
