Anant Ambani thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi for the Digital India vision, saying it gave Jio its purpose, as Reliance’s telecom and digital services business made its stock market debut

Anant Ambani thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi for his Digital India vision at the listing ceremony of Jio Platforms on Wednesday, saying the government’s push for digital connectivity had given the company its purpose.

“Adarniya Modi ji, aapko hamaara koti koti pranaam!” Anant said during his address in Mumbai. The phrase translates to “Respected Modi ji, our deepest salutations to you”.

Anant, the youngest son of Reliance Industries chairman Mukesh Ambani, expressed gratitude to the Prime Minister for his guidance and support.

“And our deepest gratitude to our Adarniya Pradhan Mantri, Shri Narendra Damodardas Modi ji, for the vision of Digital India that gave Jio its purpose, and for his continuous guidance and support,” he said.

The remarks came as Jio Platforms began trading on Indian stock exchanges on October 28, marking a major milestone for Reliance Industries’ telecom and digital services business.

Anant also connected Reliance’s ambitions with the government’s goal of building a developed India by 2047, known as Viksit Bharat. He expressed confidence in the country’s future and highlighted the role of young Indians in shaping it.

“I have complete faith that tomorrow belongs to India, and India’s tomorrow belongs to its youth,” he said. He added that Reliance would remain at the forefront of efforts to make the Viksit Bharat vision a reality.

How Digital India shaped Jio’s journey

Anant’s remarks highlighted the role of digital connectivity in Jio’s growth. Since its launch, the company has helped expand access to mobile internet across India, changing how people communicate, study, work and use digital services.

During his speech, Anant also recalled the vision of his grandfather, Dhirubhai Ambani, who built the foundations of the Reliance group. He said Dhirubhai had shown that an ordinary Indian could aspire to achieve extraordinary things.

He credited Mukesh Ambani with carrying that ambition forward and building Jio around the idea of bringing the internet to people across the country.

Jio’s next phase is expected to extend beyond telecom services into areas such as artificial intelligence, cloud computing, connected devices and other digital services. Its listing gives public-market investors an opportunity to participate in the business as it pursues these growth areas.
