At the 12th International Tourism Mart (ITM), Kaziranga in Assam is prepared to highlight its tourism potential. The event will start on November 26 and go through November 29, 2024. Every year, the Ministry of Tourism, Government of India, organizes this event to highlight North East India’s tourism potential to both domestic and foreign tourists.

Location
A UNESCO World Heritage Site known for being the habitat of the rare one-horned rhinoceros, Kaziranga National Park serves as the backdrop for the event.

Participants
There are about 400 people attending the event. Tour operators, hoteliers, tourist entrepreneurs, influencers, media representatives, government officials, and tourism specialists are among the attendees, both domestic and foreign. ITM offers the perfect setting for networking and cooperation, assisting in the promotion of travel-related enterprises and the development of beneficial relationships within the sector.

There are both business and cultural activities at the event, such as:
B2B meetings: A chance for interested parties to form alliances and discuss possible joint ventures.
Panel Discussions: Perspectives on the potential, difficulties, and present trends in tourism.

Cultural performances:Give guests a glimpse of the local way of life through traditional dance and music from the Northeast.
Food Demonstrations: Highlighting distinctive and delectable regional cuisines.
The North East Bazaar features textiles, handicrafts, and other local delicacies from the region.

Participants will have the opportunity to explore neighboring sites like the historic Charaideo Moidam, the Hathikuli Tea Estate, and the Orchid and Biodiversity Park in addition to the main event, which will deepen their appreciation of the area’s natural beauty and legacy.

The “Travel for Life” campaign is in line with this year’s ITM. It emphasizes eco-friendly and sustainable activities. To lessen the event’s negative environmental effects, energy-efficient solutions, shuttle services, and a reduction in single-use plastics will all be used.
The eight states in the Northeast—Assam, Arunachal Pradesh, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland, Tripura, and Sikkim—benefit annually from increased tourism thanks in large part to the ITM.
