Since photos of Anshula Kapoor’s engagement surfaced in October of last year, internet users have been anticipating information on her marriage. In the run-up to the big day, they were keeping an eye out for any indications of celebrations—and, of course, fashion. Images from Anshula Kapoor and her fiancé Rohan Thakkar’s pre-wedding prayer routine just surfaced, and the bride-to-be’s appearance is simply a preview of the grandeur that lies ahead in the days ahead. She looked stunning in a custom piece from Itrh, a brand created by celebrity stylist Mohit Rai and designer Ridhi Bansal.

The lavish ensemble included a skirt made from Banarasi silk tissue brocade, adorned with polki and ghungroos, and hand-embroidered with zardozi and aari (mirror). The skirt’s similar polki decorations were highlighted by the high-neck blouse, a statement design that will set bridal trends this season and give the outfit a bejewelled appearance. Dabka, badla, and gota work were utilised to create beautiful motifs utilising antique, gold-finished threads. The blouse was further adorned with ghungroos and pearls.

Additionally, Kapoor wore two dupattas: a traditional phulkari design with tightly packed flower motifs in jewel colours, a staple of every Punjabi bride’s trousseau, and a metallic hand-embroidered tissue dupatta. The ensemble took 1,600 hours to put together by artisans in Itrh’s studio, who painstakingly went over every detail and realised the bride-to-be’s golden vision.

In order to complete Kapoor’s pre-wedding bridal style, jewellery was crucial. Her jhumka was placed into her traditional bun with kaan chains, and she wore an ear cuff as accessories. She also used a maang tikka around the middle section and an elaborate hair pin to adorn her juda. Her jewels were further enhanced by a gorgeous polki necklace that appeared to be a seamless extension of the blouse’s bejewelled design.
