IndiGo’s website faced another disruption on Friday, with passengers reporting failed bookings, check-ins and payment issues

IndiGo’s website faced another disruption on Friday, with passengers unable to book flights and some users reporting problems logging into the airline’s app. The airline acknowledged the issue in a service advisory, saying it was experiencing intermittent problems with its core reservation platform.

The disruption was the second such issue to hit India’s largest airline this week.

In its advisory published on the IndiGo website, the airline said the problems “may make it difficult for some customers to access our online services”.

“Our teams are working on priority, along with our partner, to resolve the issue as quickly as possible,” IndiGo said.

Passengers report booking, check-in problems

The airline’s website showed a “no data available” message when users tried to access flight booking services on Friday.

Multiple users reported problems through IndiGo’s X account, including failed bookings, web check-ins and payment confirmations.

The cause of the disruption was not immediately clear. IndiGo’s latest advisory did not provide details about what caused the reservation platform problems or identify the technology partner involved.

Second disruption this week

The latest disruption came just two days after IndiGo acknowledged problems with its core reservation platform.

On Wednesday, the airline said on X that it was experiencing “intermittent issues” with the platform, which could make it difficult for some customers to access its online services.

IndiGo is India’s largest airline by domestic market share. It held around 67 per cent of India’s domestic aviation market in July.

Given its dominant position, disruptions to its booking and reservation systems can affect a large number of passengers across the country.

The latest technology issue also comes after the airline faced major operational disruption last December.

IndiGo faced major disruption in December

IndiGo came under sharp scrutiny in December after problems with pilot roster planning forced the airline to cancel around 4,500 flights.

The cancellations stranded tens of thousands of passengers and caused widespread disruption to air travel across India.
