Following allegations that derogatory remarks were made against Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his late mother during a rally during the opposition’s “Voter Adhikar Yatra” in Bihar, Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Thursday unleashed a vicious attack on Congress leader Rahul Gandhi and the historic party.

The use of foul language against the Prime Minister and his late mother is “not only condemnable but also a stain on our democracy,” Shah wrote in a post on X.

Shah added that the Gandhi family has done everything in their power to incite hatred against Prime Minister Modi, starting when they were Gujarat’s chief minister and continuing to this day.

But now they have gone beyond all bounds of propriety. 140 crore citizens would never forgive them for this insult to all mothers and sons,” he continued.

Additionally, Union Health Minister and BJP President JP Nadda denounced the offensive and divisive statements, claiming that two princes (Rahul Gandhi and Tejashwi Yadav) had gone beyond all bounds of civility with them.

“The Congress’s so-called Vote Rights Journey, in which the late mother of the nation’s famous Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi Ji was mistreated from the Congress-RJD platform, is abhorrent and extremely unacceptable. In a video message posted on X, he stated, “This is also a disrespect for Bihar’s culture on the soil of Bihar by two princes who have crossed all limits of indecency.”

Nadda also called for an urgent apology from both presidents for this “heinous act.”

What took place at the Bihar rally?

Rahul Gandhi led the “Vote Adhikar Yatra” at Darbhanga, Bihar, where a stage with Congress leaders allegedly chanted derogatory remarks against Prime Minister Modi, sparking a huge uproar.

The incident happened in Bithauli, within the boundaries of the Simri police station, close to NH-27, where one of the yatra’s multiple stages had been set up.

Mohammad Naushad, a local Congress leader and ticket contender for the next Bihar Assembly elections, is said to have created the platform. When the derogatory slogans were uttered, neither Rahul Gandhi nor Priyanka Gandhi were there.

Additionally, a video featuring insults directed against PM Modi and his mother has surfaced.

Rashid Alvi, the leader of the Congress, has stated that the party disapproves of such language and denounces the behaviour, further distancing the party from the incident.

But the BJP launched a full-scale assault on the Congress, claiming that the language used against Prime Minister Modi was “absolutely intolerable.”
