The Razr 60 and Razr 60 Ultra variants are part of Motorola’s new Razr 60 line. The Snapdragon 8 Elite powers the Ultra, while MediaTek’s Dimensity 7400X powers the basic variant. Pre-orders in the US open on May 7 and prices start at $699.
Motorola has formally introduced the Razr 60 series, its newest line of foldable smartphones, which will include two new clamshell-style variants for international markets. The Motoroala Razr 60 and Razr 60 Ultra, which were unveiled on Thursday, are the replacements for the Razr 50 series from the previous year.
Qualcomm’s flagship Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset powers the high-end Razr 60 Ultra, while MediaTek’s new Dimensity 7400X CPU makes its debut in the Razr 60 regular model. Both smartphones have two back cameras, pOLED LTPO screens, and an IP48 rating for dust and splash resistance, all while maintaining a folding form factor.
Cost and accessibility
The Razr 60 Ultra costs $1,399 (about ₹1,11,000) in the US and comes in a variety of colors, such as Rio Red, Scarab, Mountain Trail, and Cabaret. The more affordable Razr 60, on the other hand, comes in Gibraltar Sea, Spring Bud, Lightest Sky, and Parfait Pink and starts at $699 (about ₹60,000).
In the US, pre-orders open on May 7 and official sales start on May 15.
Razr 60 Ultra: Features and Details
The Razr 60 Ultra, which runs Motorola’s MyUX atop Android 15, has a 7-inch LTPO pOLED inner display with a 1.5K resolution (1,224 x 2,992 pixels), a refresh rate of 165 Hz, and a stunning peak brightness of 4,000 nits. In addition to supporting a refresh rate of 165 Hz, the external 4-inch cover screen has a brightness of up to 3,000 nits and is shielded by Corning Gorilla Glass Ceramic.
Up to 512GB of UFS 4.1 storage and up to 16GB of LPDDR5X RAM are features of the Ultra variant. Its dual rear camera configuration consists of a 50MP ultra-wide lens and a 50MP primary sensor with OIS. Users may take selfies with the 50MP front camera on the inside display.
5G (SA/NSA), Wi-Fi 6E, Bluetooth 5.4, NFC, GPS, and a USB Type-C port are among the connectivity capabilities. A 4,700mAh battery that supports both 30W wireless and 68W cable charging is housed within.
Razr 60: Details
The basic Razr 60 has somewhat more subdued hardware but the same software as the Ultra. It has an interior 6.96-inch full HD+ screen with a refresh rate of 120 Hz and a maximum brightness of 3,000 nits. With a brightness of 1,700 nits and a refresh rate of 90 Hz, the 3.63-inch cover display is shielded by Gorilla Glass Victus.
The device’s internal components include a Dimensity 7400X processor, up to 512GB of UFS 2.2 storage, and up to 16GB of LPDDR4X RAM. Its rear cameras consist of a 13MP ultra-wide/macro shooter and a 50MP main sensor with OIS. Video calls and selfies are handled via a 32MP front-facing camera.
Additionally, 5G, Wi-Fi 6E, Bluetooth 5.3, NFC, GPS, and USB-C connectivity are supported by the Razr 60. It supports 15W wireless and 30W wired charging, and it has a 4,500mAh battery.
