Ensana, Europe’s leading health spa hotel group, has expanded its portfolio to Germany with the Ensana Fürstenhof. Following extensive modernisation, the historic hotel in Bad Griesbach, Bavaria, has been given a fresh new look and now celebrated its official reopening. General Manager Ralf Müller and Frank Halmos, CEO of Ensana Hotels, welcomed invited guests to the grand opening ceremony, joined by Mayor Jürgen Fundke and Cornelia Wasner-Sommer, Deputy District Administrator. With 148 redesigned rooms and a newly refurbished 4,500-square-metre spa area, the hotel presents itself as a modern destination for wellness and relaxation in Lower Bavaria. The next phase of its repositioning will see the introduction of medical facilities, scheduled for early 2027.
Wellness and relaxation in a contemporary setting with natural healing resources
The heart of the Ensana Fürstenhof is its redesigned wellness area, featuring two indoor pools and an outdoor pool with thermal water, two whirlpools, saunas, a steam room and a salt grotto. Spacious relaxation areas and an approximately 1,000-square-metre outdoor sunbathing area complete the facilities.
The Ensana Fürstenhof concept combines natural healing resources, medical expertise and high-quality hospitality. A key role is played by the fluoride-containing sodium hydrogen carbonate chloride thermal water sourced from Bad Griesbach’s therapeutic springs. From early 2027, a dedicated medical area is set to expand the offer with personalised programmes focusing, among other things, on musculoskeletal health, stress reduction and holistic well-being.
Culinary delights and entertainment all year round
The Ensana Fürstenhof also stands out for its culinary concept and cultural programme. Seasonal events and regular activities give guests additional reasons to visit throughout the year. On 15 November 2026, for example, the hotel will host its traditional Martinmas goose lunch from noon to 1:30 pm. Another highlight is a relaxed brunch served every second Sunday from 11 am to 1:30 pm. Live music featuring a changing line-up of artists adds to the atmosphere every Wednesday and Saturday from 8 pm to 10:30 pm.
Active holidays nearby ten golf courses
Located in Lower Bavaria’s spa triangle, the Fürstenhof is also an ideal base for outdoor experiences and sporting activities. Golf enthusiasts, in particular, benefit from its proximity to Europe’s largest golf resort, which features ten diverse courses spread across 476 hectares. This makes it easy to combine active days with relaxing hours at the hotel. Further information is available at www.ensanahotels.com and on Facebook.
