The 78th Primetime Emmy Awards are set to take place on September 14, 2026, at Los Angeles’ Peacock Theater. The award ceremony brings together celebrities from Hollywood for an evening dedicated to honour the best of television.
The ceremony will be broadcast live, allowing audiences worldwide to catch the awards, performances, and notable moments as they take place in real time. It will be hosted by actor Mariska Hargitay.
Emmys 2026 timing
The award ceremony will begin at 8 pm ET/5 pm PT on September 14. In India, Emmys 2026 will take place on Tuesday, September 15, with the red carpet coverage beginning at 4:30 am IST followed by the main ceremony at 5:30 am IST.
Where to watch Emmys 2026?
The award ceremony will be livestreamed on Peacock, NBCUniversal’s streaming platform in the US. In India, the ceremony will be streamed on JioHotstar with the option of watching it later on demand.
Several well-known celebrities will be presenting the award during the ceremony, including Zendaya, Florence Pugh, Jon Hamm, Amy Poehler, Sally Field, Keke Palmer, David Harbour, Macaulay Culkin, Dan Levy, Sarah Michelle Gellar and Rachel Sennott.
Along with that, special anniversary tributes will be paid to Buffy the Vampire Slayer, for completing 30 years and Charlie’s Angels, for completing 50 years.
Emmys 2026 nominatons
HBO Max’s The Pitt and Hacks have emerged as the year’s most-nominated drama and comedy, with the former topping with 25 nominations and the latter with 24. Apple TV enjoyed one of its strongest Emmy showings yet, led by freshman series Widow’s Bay with 19 nominations and sci-fi drama Pluribus with 18.
Several milestone moments also emerged from this year’s nominations. Actor Harrison Ford is nominated for his first Emmy for Shrinking. David Attenborough became the oldest Emmy nominee in history at 100 years old, earning a nomination for Asia.
At the same time, actor Jean Smart would make history if she wins the Emmy for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Comedy Series, giving her eight acting Emmys, tying the all-time record for the most acting Emmy victories by a performer.
