Cox & Kings, established in London in 1758, today unveils its new Small Group Tours brochure for 2027-28, marking its most ambitious new product launch since joining Abercrombie & Kent Travel Group (AKTG) in 2019. The new collection introduces 18 new tours across Europe, Africa, Central Asia, Asia and North America, significantly expanding the company’s programme with new destinations, longer regional journeys, specialist-led tours and dedicated departures for solo travellers.
The new brochure reflects Cox & Kings’ renewed focus on curiosity, expertise and deeper cultural exploration, with journeys designed for travellers who want to go beyond the obvious, spend longer in a destination and come away with a greater understanding of the places they visit. From Grand Tours of Central Europe, the Balkans and Central Asia to new journeys in Algeria, West Africa, Nepal, Bhutan and North America, the collection puts greater emphasis on exploration, context and specialist knowledge.
The programme has been shaped by extensive research undertaken as part of Cox & Kings’ recent brand refresh, exploring the motivations and interests of both existing and prospective clients. Exploration, history, culture and learning emerged as key interests, alongside a desire for expert insight, authentic local encounters and destinations beyond the established tourist trail. These findings have directly informed the new brochure, extending existing product lines to enable deeper exploration while opening up new destinations and markets.

Every journey is crafted by destination specialists and delivered by experienced guides and carefully selected local partners. This combination of global reach and local knowledge gives travellers both the confidence of a highly experienced travel company and the insight of people who know each destination from the inside.
We have reduced the maximum group size from 20 to 18 across all tours with a current average of 14 guests, giving travellers greater access to guides, sites and experiences, while 90% of Group Tours include at least one guaranteed departure date. All Cox & Kings travellers also have access to 24/7 assistance, and journeys can be enhanced with tailormade extensions before or after the main tour. The human element remains central to the experience, from the specialist who designs an itinerary to the local guide who brings its stories to life. It is this combination of expertise, personal insight and thoughtful care that enables Cox & Kings to go beyond surface-level travel.
The Modern Grand Tour
At the heart of the new collection is a focus on the Grand Tour: balancing longer journeys that prioritise depth and breadth whilst giving travellers the expertise and context to understand the places they visit across a whole region. This product launch sees four new Grand Tours across Central Europe, the Balkans, Central Asia and Great Britain & Ireland join the portfolio to make a total of eight.

The new brochure also marks a significant evolution in the way Cox & Kings caters to solo travellers, with dedicated solo departures introduced across a selection of its Small Group Journeys.
Designed for independent travellers who want the expertise and companionship of a group journey without compromising their independence, dedicated departures combine groups of no more than 14 guests, with expert-led itineraries and carefully considered time to explore independently. Cox & Kings does not charge a single supplement or other add-ons on these departures, while negotiating with hotel partners to provide solo travellers with a double or twin room for their own use at no additional cost.
For 2027, dedicated solo departures will be available across 10 Small Group Journeys, spanning the Indian Subcontinent, Latin America, Europe, Central Asia and the Middle East and North Africa.
