Neena Gupta in ‘Chumbak’

The trailer of Neena Gupta’s upcoming comedy-drama series, Chumbak, was unveiled by the makers on Wednesday (August 26, 2026). It is written and directed by Aatish Kapadia, who has also produced it with Jamnadas (JD) Majethia.
The show also stars Deven Bhojani, Sumeet Raghvan, Sandeepa Dhar, Arjun Bijlani, Helly Shah, Sumeet Vyas, Manasi Parekh, Delnaaz Irani, Anant V. Joshi, Amyra Dastur and Atul Kumar in pivotal roles.
The trailer offers a view into the chaotic world of the show which follows the story of five families in an Urban Indian neighbourhood. There is a feel-good factor to the comedy which arises out of everyday situations with a bunch of eccentric characters like the hopelessly romantic lovers Mickey and Twinkle Oberoi (Arjun Bijlani and Helly Shah), the zen couple Aditya and Priyanka Khanna (Sumeet Vyaas and Manasi Parekh) and the innocent Parsis, Mumma Gulshan, Freddy and Hutoxi Taraporewala (Delnaaz Irani, Anant V. Joshi and Amyra Dastur). The series promises to be a wholesome family entertainer with a blend of comedy and emotions.
Speaking about it, Jamnadas (JD) Majethia and Aatish Kapadia said in a joint statement, “We’ve always loved telling stories and finding humour in everyday relationships, and with Chumbak, we wanted characters who feel familiar yet surprise you. Bringing this world to Netflix lets us take this family comedy to audiences across India and the world.”
Chumbak is set to premiere on Netflix on September 19.
