Gulmarg, a vacation town in Jammu and Kashmir’s Baramulla district, continues to draw a lot of visitors over the New Year’s season.
Gulmarg is still a well-liked location for winter sports including skiing, snowboarding, and snowshoeing because of its picturesque scenery and snow-capped peaks.
Due to the seven-day national mourning period following the death of former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, the tourism department of Jammu and Kashmir has chosen not to host any formal events to commemorate the New Year. Nevertheless, the resort continues to attract a large number of visitors who take advantage of the outdoor activities and natural beauty.
The area feels like a wonderland, according to Kamani Singla, a visitor who traveled from Punjab to Gulmarg for the first time and reported seeing snow for the first time in her life.
“It’s a heaven. This is our first visit, and we’re having a great time. The best time. It was the first time we had seen snow, and it was the first time we had seen this much snowfall here,” she recalled.
Sonu, another traveler, commented that Kashmir is truly a wonderland and that he had a great time visiting Gulmarg and ringing in the new year.
In actuality, Kashmir is a wonderland. It’s a lot of fun to come to Gulmarg and celebrate the new year,” he remarked.
The attraction is further enhanced by the presence of the Gulmarg Gondola, one of the tallest cable cars in the world, which offers views of the neighboring mountains.
“Many tourists came on the occasion of New Year’s and on the occasion of Christmas, and we are very happy with that because the public’s employment here is going well,” said Bilal Ahmed, who runs the area’s sledges and slides. We’re also thrilled that local tourism will benefit greatly from this.”
The hotels, resorts, and guesthouses in the area are now starting to fill up with tourists. The experience is further enhanced by the native cuisine and hospitality in the area.
