The highly anticipated sequel to the 2005 smash No Entry has met a stumbling block after actor-singer Diljit Dosanjh stepped away from the project. The film, directed by Anees Bazmee and produced by Boney Kapoor, was scheduled to release in October 2025 with a fresh cast that included Varun Dhawan and Arjun Kapoor.
What’s Happening?
Boney Kapoor confirmed that Diljit Dosanjh is not a part of No Entry 2, telling NDTV, “Yes, we parted in good spirits because the dates did not align with our requirements; hopefully, we will soon do a Punjabi film together.”
According to reports, Diljit’s hectic schedule, particularly his Aura Tour in Australia and New Zealand from October 26 to November 13, interfered with the film’s shoot. The actor-singer is today one of the busiest figures in music and film, juggling multiple projects and international tours.
Background
At a recent event, Boney Kapoor revealed that the inability to reunite the original trio (Salman Khan, Anil Kapoor, and Fardeen Khan) remained a source of frustration. “Yeh humara loss hai, because we couldn’t keep the same star cast. We waited for over eight to ten years, but nothing happened. We’ll miss them. And now we’re trying to make a fresh start with a younger cast of actors. At the same time, we’ll miss Salman, Anil, and Fardeen. They were the initial three boys from No Entry. “And they were the most loved,” he explained.
August 26 marked the 20th anniversary of the original No Entry, which also starred Bipasha Basu, Esha Deol, Lara Dutta, and Celina Jaitly. Boney Kapoor and Bazmee officially announced the sequel with a younger cast in 2024, promising a new take on the comedy that became one of 2005’s biggest hits.
