Are you alive or not? Following Trump’s accusation, Mojtaba Khamenei reappears with a message to Iraq.

According to official media, Iran’s Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei expressed gratitude in his most recent address to the Iraqi people and religious leadership for their support of Tehran. The declaration was made just days after Donald Trump said he was either dead or very sick. Since gaining office, he has not made any public appearances, therefore there is ongoing conjecture about his whereabouts and health.

According to Iranian state media, Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Mojtaba Khamenei has expressed gratitude to the Iraqi people and the nation’s religious leadership for supporting Tehran “in the face of aggression.” This statement has heightened curiosity about Khamenei’s health and whereabouts.

Only a few days after US President Donald Trump asserted that Iran’s recently appointed supreme commander was either dead or in serious condition as a result of recent US military operations, the statement of thanks was published on Sunday.

Mojtaba Khamenei may not be alive, according to Trump, who said that Iran’s military leadership and defence system had been “completely destroyed.”

“Their leaders have passed away. They no longer have a supreme leader. He has passed away. Since no one has heard from him, his son is likely dead or in really poor condition. “I believe he says, ‘Just keep me out of this,'” the US president previously stated.

Tehran hasn’t provided any concrete visual evidence of his condition, though, and the most recent message to Iraq didn’t explain how it was communicated.

Mojtaba has not been in public since taking over as supreme leader on March 9 following the murder of his father, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, in a US-Israeli strike. State television presenters have read all of the statements that have been attributed to him thus far, including his inaugural speech on March 12 and his Nowruz greeting on March 20.

As the conflict in West Asia intensifies, his continuing absence has sparked great conjecture in intelligence and diplomatic circles about who is actually leading decision-making in Tehran. According to reports, US authorities are still evaluating Iran’s chain of command, and the issue has reportedly been discussed in President Trump’s intelligence briefings.

As key Iranian leaders have been consistently killed in Israeli strikes, the mystery surrounding Mojtaba’s whereabouts has only intensified, raising concerns about whether the new supreme leader is in hiding, seriously hurt, or purposefully avoiding public exposure for security reasons.
