Air Canada increases frequencies between London Heathrow and Toronto

Air Canada today announced an increase in daily flights between London Heathrow and Toronto, increasing the airline’s most distinctive transatlantic offering as part of its Summer 2027 international schedule.

From 1 June, Air Canada will increase frequency on the London Heathrow – Toronto route with up to 33 weekly flights, giving UK customers more choice of departure times in both directions. The additional frequency includes the return of the Daytripper from Toronto to London Heathrow, allowing UK travellers making a short trip to Toronto to avoid an extra overnight stay and return to London the same evening.

The service will include operation by Air Canada’s new Airbus A321XLR, bringing the airline’s latest aircraft and onboard experience to the London Heathrow – Toronto route.

Beyond the direct connection to Canada, the service also opens up convenient onward travel opportunities through Air Canada’s Toronto hub. Travellers from London can connect to destinations across the airline’s extensive global network, including across Canada, the United States, the Caribbean, Central America and South America.

Stephen Gerrard, Air Canada, United Kingdom, said: “The Daytripper is a service our UK customers know very well, and we’re delighted to resume it as part of an overall increase in frequency on the Heathrow-Toronto route to five times daily. It provides a unique alternative to conventional overnight transatlantic services, giving travellers between the UK and the US greater flexibility, whether visiting for business, leisure or a short city break.

The service connects conveniently through Air Canada’s Toronto global hub to our extensive domestic and North American network, opening up a whole new world of transatlantic travel possibilities for UK customers.”

This news follows Air Canada’s wider announcement earlier today, which includes a significant expansion of its global network in Summer 2027 with the addition of five new international destinations and six new routes, along with increased schedules on key markets.

With the expansion of the services from London Heathrow, this means European travellers connecting to the United States via Canada can also take advantage of U.S. Customs and immigration preclearance rules throughout the year, enabling them to arrive in the U.S. as a domestic passenger.

Customers can also benefit from Aeroplan, Air Canada’s loyalty programme, which enables members to earn and redeem points across Air Canada’s extensive network and a wide range of partner airlines.

The new service is on sale from today. To book visit Air Canada’s website www.aircanada.com.
